Water quality upgrade in Laohe Village: from Class V to Class III.

2025-03-04

This river‑channel remediation project involves a residential‑area waterway that receives domestic sewage year-round, resulting in poor water flow and severe pollution that far exceeds the water body’s self‑purification capacity. The water appears dark yellow, with poor visual quality, and its ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus, and COD levels all exceed the Class V (inferior) standards.

Water quality testing conducted during the implementation of the river‑channel remediation project revealed Class V–poor water quality, with a dense accumulation of red algae and a reddish‑brown surface.

Following the implementation of the river‑channel remediation project, water quality testing revealed Class V status, with COD levels meeting Class III standards. Red‑worm populations have been completely eliminated, transparency has improved markedly, and no reddish‑brown discoloration has been observed on the water surface.
