Recently, at the annual conference of the Ningbo Environmental Science Society, Ningbo Zhuhong Nanotechnology Co., Ltd. was awarded the Third Prize in the 2025 Ningbo Municipal Ecological and Environmental Science and Technology Innovation Competition for its project, “Research and Development of an In-Situ Control Device for Ultra-Micro Nano-Bubbles and Demonstration of Its Application in Controlling Algal Blooms in Rivers and Lakes.” This recognition not only underscores Zhuhong Nanotechnology’s strong innovative capabilities in the field of ecological and environmental science but also marks a significant step forward in addressing the challenge of algal blooms in rivers and lakes.
Ningbo Zhuhong Nanotechnology Co., Ltd. was established in 2015 as a national-level high-tech enterprise jointly funded by the Ningbo Municipal Government and the Yinzhou District Government. The company focuses on the research, development, and application of ultra‑micro and nano‑bubble water technologies and related fields. Its proprietary in-situ control device for algal blooms leverages internationally advanced ultra‑micro and nano‑bubble generation technology, demonstrating remarkable effectiveness in mitigating cyanobacterial blooms in rivers and lakes. By producing large quantities of ultra‑micro and nano‑bubbles, the device increases dissolved oxygen levels, improves water quality, and effectively inhibits the growth and reproduction of cyanobacteria, thereby achieving on-site prevention and control of algal bloom disasters.
In terms of application and demonstration, Zhuhong Nano’s project has achieved promising results in the management of numerous rivers and lakes. By deploying in-situ ultrafine nanobubble control devices in real‑world water bodies, water quality has improved markedly, algal blooms have been effectively contained, and aquatic ecosystems have gradually regained their ecological balance. The successful implementation of this project has provided a new technological solution and valuable practical experience for addressing the challenge of cyanobacterial blooms in China’s rivers and lakes.
