Stable oxygenation in the factory-based aquaculture of Mlikfish in seawater

2025-03-20

Project Overview: A factory‑based aquaculture project undertaken by a leading Philippine seafood company focuses on milkfish farming and hatchery operations. Each culture pond has a water depth of 1.5 meters and a volume of 100–200 cubic meters. The site comprises more than 200 ponds, and the project aims to enhance dissolved oxygen levels to improve survival rates and promote individual growth.

Project Conclusion: Dissolved oxygen levels rapidly increased from 2.8 mg/L to 6.5 mg/L within a short period; upon introducing an oxygen source, the dissolved oxygen reached 10.61 mg/L, with both the near‑point and far‑point values exceeding saturation (averaging 10.28 mg/L at the near point and 8.31 mg/L at the far point). Following the addition of water to the aquaculture ponds, both dissolved oxygen and water transparency improved markedly.
