Yinzhou News Network reports (Reporter Wang Min, Correspondents Lang An and Yin Caixuan): Yesterday afternoon, at the first session of the Ningbo Communist Youth League’s “Youth Study” thematic forum—titled “Growing with the City, Achieving Excellence with Youth”—alongside the “Love Ningbo • Yinzhou Future” Youth Urban Development Forum, academicians Shi Zhongci of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yang Herong, Chairman of Zhongzhe Group, Zhao Zhuowei, Chairman of Ningbo Zhuhong Nanotechnology Co., Ltd., and William, an international student alumnus of the University of Nottingham Ningbo, joined more than 600 young representatives to share insights and engage in dialogue, inspiring young talents to rethink and redefine their roles in Ningbo’s development and personal growth.
Shi Zhongci, a native of Yinzhou, is a leading figure in China’s computational mathematics. He has said that he spent his entire life in continuous learning, urging young people to grow and excel through study, to take on responsibilities and make selfless contributions in their work, and to contribute to the strength of the nation and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Yang Herong shared with the youth representatives his perspectives on urban development from an entrepreneur’s viewpoint and on how young people can strive for excellence, encouraging them to effectively promote themselves and seize the opportunities brought by this remarkable era. Zhao Zhuowei, drawing on his experience studying abroad and returning to start a business, discussed the appeal and service‑oriented strengths of cities. Meanwhile, William spoke about his involvement in public‑service initiatives and offered insights into how foreign youth perceive Ningbo.
During the forum, appointment letters were presented to the newly appointed “Youth Ambassadors” of Yinzhou. Among them are Paralympic champion and recipient of China’s May Fourth Youth Medal, Huang Cheng; Tian’geng maker and national leader in agricultural prosperity, Wang Yanbin; peacekeeping police officer and United Nations Peace Medal recipient, Xia Yonghui—along with seven other individuals—who will regularly engage in promotional and advocacy activities, sharing inspiring stories about Yinzhou and projecting its positive image.
On that day, the Ningbo Southern Urban Intelligent Innovation Corridor Development and Construction Command signed a joint‑construction agreement with Zhejiang Wanli University on a university–local talent‑service project. Deputy District Mayor Bu Mingchang attended the event.
